How to create account, join tests, and view results
Visit cbthost.com and click "Create Account / Login". Sign up using your email address and basic information. You'll need this account to participate in tests.
From your dashboard, click "Participate in Test" and enter the CBT Passcode provided by your instructor. The system will verify the passcode and grant access if the test is published.
Open Test: Accessible to all registered users with the passcode. Your email and name are used as Test ID.
Closed Test: Restricted to specific students. You must use the Test ID assigned by your instructor.
Download the CBTHost Mobile App, log in with your web credentials, and enter CBT passcodes to take tests. The app syncs with your web account and supports both timed and manual submissions.
If you lose connection, try to reconnect immediately. For critical exams, consider using the offline version. Always ensure stable internet before starting important tests.

Creating tests, importing questions, managing students
Log into your account, click "Create Test / Quiz", enter the test name, and configure settings like duration, score per question, shuffle options, and attempt limits under the "Config" section.
Yes! Use our import template to format your questions and upload .docx or .pdf files. The system automatically processes text, images, formulas, tables, and diagrams from your documents.
Download the Excel template from the "Upload Student Data" section, fill in student details (Test ID, Name, Email), and upload the file. Each student is identified by their Test ID for tracking.
Use the Data Transfer section. For same account transfers, select source and destination passcodes. For different accounts, create a Security Phrase and share it with the receiver.
Results can be downloaded in Excel format from your dashboard or accessed programmatically via API. All results are automatically processed and available immediately after test completion.
CBTHost Offline Installation Guide
Download, install, and setup offline version
Download the installer from our website, run the setup file, and follow on-screen instructions. The system automatically creates a configuration file (config.json) in the installation directory.
Open config.json, locate the port field, and change it to a free port number (e.g., 8081, 5000, 9000). Save the file and restart the software.
Copy the Admin Access Code from config.json, open your browser to the address shown by the software, and enter the code to unlock the admin panel. You can update this code anytime for security.
Create your quiz on cbthost.com, export questions as a .json file, then import this file in the Import Questions section of your offline software. All questions must be created through cbthost.com for compatibility.
The current version supports one attempt per student. To allow retakes, manually delete the student's previous attempt record, which will enable them to take the test again.
Windows 10/11 (64-bit), 2GB RAM minimum, 500MB free disk space, and a modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher, internet access for login and synchronization, and minimum 100MB free storage space.
Use the same email and password as your CBTHost web account. Alternatively, you can log in through the website and get redirected to the test page.
Reopen the app; the test will auto-resume or auto-submit depending on your instructor's settings. Avoid closing the app during tests to prevent potential data loss.
